Goats/Re: Migi Update

Good Evening Donna,
U know Donna last night Migi kept biting the side of his belly and his feet and we've been having alot of mites & tick issues so maybe thats y he kept stomping his feet to scratch so i applied PYTHON DUST i dusted him & brushed him so that the powder was distributed all over his body so far i haven't seen him scratch but will the PYTHON DUST kill the mites & ticks? or can i use FRONTLINE TICK FOR DOGS ON GOATS? Its a liquid that u apply from head to tail or its not good for goats (just asking)Anyways i will apply some more PYTHON DUST just in case b/c i think Migi has mites i doubt he has ticks but i don't know. Thanks Donna

Me & Migi

Hi there - the python dust should do the trick.  Nothing that you use on dogs can be used on goats as it can be toxic to the goat.  Most times you can use anything used on cats for use on the goats as cats have sensitive systems like the goat.  Would wait and see how the dusting woks first.  And, yes, you are correct about stomping feet - that's what goats do when they are botheed by external parasites.  Donna
