Question
What is the best age and process to whether a pygmy goat?

Answer
All bucklings should be wethered/castrated (banding is best method) at 10 days to 2 weeks.  The theory that late castration lessens the risk of urinary calculi is not researched to prove it.  CDT toxoid vaccination at the time of castration starts the CDT toxoid regimen for kid goats (2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months and 9 months at 1 cc, and then starting at one year and every year afterwards 2 cc. Hope this helps - Donna
