Question Have a 2 week old baby boer goat that we had to bottle feed and now its not able to get up. what do i need to do its still eating good
Answer What is its temperature? Anything over 102.5 would indicate an infection which could be the issue. Is the kid peeing and pooping okay? Is the kid goat bloated? The other item could be floppy kid syndrome which is selenium deficiency - if the kid goat is not running a fever would give the following to the kid. The following is human minerals and vitamins used for the goats and works better than Bo-Se or gel - use two of the 200 mcg selenium tablets crushed and dissolved in a little hot water to dissolve it, and to that add half the oil from a 1000 IU vitamin E capsule and half the oil from an 800 IU vitamin D capsule - mix, cool and give orally now, tomorrow, and the next day. You may need to go to four and five days. Hope this helps - let me know - Donna.
