how can you tell if your goat has mites?

You can get a skin scraping and look under the microscope to see what it looks like. This works with lice. Often there is a crustiness with mites. And as the link above notes, it also depends on where the problem is. One of my bucks got mites and they were inside his legs and the scrotum. I got rid of them with a thick coating of vaseline. Also can do subcutaneous ivermectin.
