Goats/swollen knees

Question
My six year old alpine pet goat experiences stiffness on rising.Knees swollen.Appears healthy otherwise.Any suggestions re an anti inflammatory? Many thanks.  Judith.

Answer
Has she been tested for CAE virus? That can cause arthritis. Other than banamine, which is rx, I am not aware of anti inflammatory tested in goats. I know some people has used glucosamine and chondroitin, but I don't know if they work or not. There just isn't much out there for goats. Good luck. I wish I could offer more.
