Question
My 12 year old pygmy goat has green dried snot around her nose and her breathing in noisy. She is still eating really good. She does look bloated. We have some norocillin that we keep in the fridge but the expiration date is 2013. Can we still use it? This is the first time she has ever been sick.

Answer
This could be pneumonia - penicillin is best but could at least start with expired norocillin for tonght.  She will also need probiotics during antibiotic therapy.  Hope this helps - let me know - Donna

Penicillin dose is 3 cc/100 pounds body weight twice a day given intramuscularly.
