Goats/First time birth rectal tear

My two year old Pygmy nanny gave birth for first time on 9/12/15 she has a rectal tear should I get her stitched up or will it repair in a week with antibiotic cream? No fever, no medicine, Eating not sick acting and having bowel movements.

HI Jerri:

I am so sorry.. I had answered this before and thought it sent..  I apologize for being late-

Usually a rectal or vaginal tear will repair itself in a few days to a week or so..  - naturally.. and should not  created any issues in future kiddings. I have had to give a couple of episiotomies in the past also with out incident.. no stitches required..  they heal.. you may want to use a topical antibacterial ointment such as neosporin.  I doubt she should have problems with it..

Again I am sorry the first answer did not send..
