Goats/water

Question
i was wondering what is the best method to prevent algae from their water trough. thank you so much

Answer
Sometimes adding vinegar helps, but many goats don't like the taste of vinegar.  I only use buckets for water for my goats - it takes a little longer to fill everyone's bucket, but that way I can clean them every day.  Also, using buckets allows me to know exactly how much water they are drinking. My advice would be to not use the large water troughs and opt for buckets.  Hope that helps - Donna
