Golf - Mixed 4BBB matchplay

Expert: Ken Tannar - 10/5/2009

Question
In a mixed 4BBB matchplay match, which stroke index should be used when taking your shots. Some people say it should be the mens, some people say that if it is the lady giving all the shots, then you should play off the ladies stroke index, and some people say that the men play off the mens and the ladies play off the ladies. Is there a hard and fast rule of which stroke index to play.

Answer
Hi Liz,

Although it wouldn't make a great difference which handicap you played off, it's fairest to take strokes on the holes according to the handicap rating of the hole. Men would use the men's rating, women would use the women's rating.

Hope this helps.
