Golf - Senior Tee's again

Question
Question: should there be different tee boxes when 2,3,or 4 golfers play a Best Ball Scramble ? So called Senior Tees. I play several courses at Lake Ozarks MO. with men from ages 50 to 90 and its most always best ball play. However, my golf buddies insist they have to hit from Yellow or even Red tees.

I argue its 2,3,4 people playing Best Ball and We ALL should hit from One tee box and play the longest hit, thus Best Ball.

example: 60% of the holes have a difference of from 120 to even 250 yds between White and Red Tees, thus someone is lying two when someone is lying one. Being 1 or 2 strokes down when your on the green putting is wrong.

I contend when playing Best Ball, All hit from the same tee box. Then the second, third, forth hit is when skill really counts and age does not matter in playing a Best Ball Scramble. Thank You, B

Hi Bernie: Let's clarify something first.

A Best Ball and a Scramble are two entirely different games. A Best Ball is the better ball score wise of the twosome, threesome or foursome. For instance, if you were playing a Best Ball with your buddy John, and on the first hole, you made a 5 and John made a 7, your team score for that hole would be a 5.

A Scramble is when everyone in the group hits from the same spot and then you select the best shot of the group. All of you would then pick up your balls and go play from the spot of the selected shot. You do this on every shot until holed. That is not a best ball.

So if you are playing a BEST BALL competition, the players should be able to hit from the tees that their handicaps or ages allow.

If you are playing a SCRAMBLE, then you all should hit from the same tees.
