Question
I have just started playing golf again after several years.I've been using a borrowed set of clubs.I want to buy an affordable complete set(around $300)to get me going.I'm 5'11" and 220lbs..What set would you recommend for "out of the box" playability?

Answer
Rich,

here is what you need to do. First, find a "demo day" in your area. Talk to the local PGA Professional about dates and details. They are usually complimentary. Have a manufacturer's representative custom fit you.

Then you need to come as close to the specifications on a $300 set that you referred to in your question. The other alternative is to find a set that you like and purchase one custom fit club every month or how often you can afford to order the next club. This will save you money in the long run. This will also ensure that you have clubs that fit you and your swing.

Hope this helps,

Michael
