Question
in a recent match my ball landed on the green about 6 or 7 inches from the fringe, but a sprinkler on the fringe effected my stance a bit. But i didnt know if i got relief when my ball is on the green. If you could answer this for me i would be very happy thanks.
Tom

Answer
Hello Tom:

Thanks for asking this question.

Yes.  You will get the relief without penalty.

Rule 24-2 Immovable Obstruction.
When the obstruction interferes with the player's stance or the area of his intended swing, the player must lift the ball and drop it without penalty within one club-length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief.
