US Government Information - Felon Jobs

Expert: Darlene Oldendick - 2/4/2009

Question
I have a Bachelor's Degree and a felony. I would like to know if there is any chance of me ever being hired at a government job that will consider my educational background rather than my criminal Histroy?

Answer
A felony does not prevent you from being considered by the government for employment.  It would depend on the position you are applying for and the reason for the felony.

Whatever you do, be honest.  If you are not honest, get hired and they find out (and they probably will), you would probably be fired for falsifying your application.
