US Government Information/wrong age

Question
I was married in Texas in 1972. In 2012 when cleaning out old papers I noticed my age is wrong on my marriage certificate will this cause a problem in the future when I file for SSI on my husbands income?

Answer
It will not matter that the marriage certificate has an incorrect age or date of birth if you have your birth certificate.  Social Security will use the date as shown on your birth certificate. In most cases, Social Security already has proof of your age and they do not ask for additional evidence.

Hope this answered your question.
