USPS is not fedraly owned but federaly monitored, they have been self supporrted since 1982 they generate income from the sale of stamps and other products.  I am a 3rd party postal service employee I work for a call center on the USPS project have now for 1 1/2 years as to my knowledge that is the correct response.  As to my knowledge as well postal employees are concdiered federal employees I hope that was more information for you.

USPS is not federally owned its owned by a private entity.  They have been self supporting since 1982 and generate there revenue by the sale of stamps and other products and services.  I work for a call center and am on the USPS project have been for 1 1/2 years.  As to my knowledge that is the correct awsner.
