Graphic Accelerators - Geforce 9800GT or HD 8450 radeon

Expert: Salman Zeb Khan - 10/23/2009

Question
As usual nvidia prices seems to be a little more than ATI.while looking at nvidia cards Geforce 9800GT(512 mb of ASUS or Palit) sounds good and fits my budget. But HD 4850 in comparison(thru surveys ) gives a little higher performance than than  and i could get 1GB for almost the same price $115-120.which is a better one to choose.suggest me a better one in that budget and other series cards also if better.suggest be goood online shopping sites too.

Answer
Dear Jeeva,
Your choice of cards is good and regarding nvidia or Ati; it depends upon your likeness. If you want to know my choice then I recommend Nvidia because in past I had a very bad experiance with Ati that is I bought a pait of Ati Radeon 3870 and first I got stuck during driver installation then when I tried Crysis and tried to increse its settings from low to med but failed becuse game freezed. After that I changed these cards with Nvidia 9800GT and all trouble over. I played this game in Max graphics settings.

So my recommendation is don't get fooled with Ati online better performance reveiws, go for Nvidia.
