Question
Hi

I have Intel 82845 motherboard. I am looking to purchase a graphic card so that i can play games with better graphics like Serious Sam II encounter, Painkiller, Age Of Empire 3 etc.

When i look at the mother board i can see 4 PCI slot and 1 AGP slot.

Please advise whether i can go for a PCI graphics card or i have to stick with an AGP card ?

Answer
With this motherboard, your options are limited to AGP or PCI (PCI Express being something different entirely), based on that, I would suggest an AGP based card, there should still be a few HD 2600XT's or 7600GT's for AGP floating around out there. Check Newegg.

Expertise

I have been interested in computer hardware, especially 3D graphics and the hardware behind it, for nearly two decades; I have knowledge in the installation, use, troubleshooting, purchase, and overclocking of computer graphics adapters (including non-ATI/AMD and non-nVidia solutions) and related hardware.

Experience

I have been an enthusiast of PC's for many years, and can answer questions about the purchase/use of a new computer or the purchase, installation, and use of upgrades for existing computers. There probably isn't a whole lot related to the home computer that I haven't seen over the years.
