Graphic Accelerators/blue screen when try to install chrome, ie 10 11

Hello Salman

Try your best to answer what you can. Thank you.

When I try to install Google chrome and also try to upgrade to internet explorer 10 or 11 the blue screen of death will appear with the information below as

I don't get this with Mozilla Firefox, opera and IE 9.

My laptop is Dell inspiron 14R, windows 7 premium 64 bit genuine version, ati Radeon 6630m.

After installing the amd autodetectutility and downloading the correct drivers as recommended,  the laptop resolution changes to 800600 from 1366768 and a dialog box appear saying Amd graphics driver not installed or the device is not working properly. I have to do a system restore subsequently.

I have downloaded and installed the right drivers and catalyst suite as detected by the amd autodetect. I also tried with another previous version (second latest version) and the same thing happened.

Please advise. Thank you.

Dear Chan,
Its not faulty mb or card problem! The driver is the main culprit .
Try to imply this step first!
Update the BIOS  and  latest ATi drivers from these links , (Note: if your laptop is not  Dell inspiron 14R (5420) then manually select model by visiting Dell support page or use Service Tag.
After updating Dell drivers do use Microsoft Windows Update and apply all updates.
Now try installing Google Chrome Note: When you update windows via windows update then hopefully Internet Explorer will update to latest version I. e. 11 .

If above fails then try this procedure. I found it via Web search and don't know it works or not so do it AT YOUR OWN RISK. Do create system backup via system image creation software like
Macrium Reflect
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Follow every step : Step 1:  DONT TURN OFF OR RESTART YOUR COMPUTER Step 2: Then go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and rename atikmdag.sys to atikmdag.sys.old. Step 3: Go to ati directory (usually in C:\ATI) and find the file atikmdag.sy_. Step 4: Copy the file to your Desktop directory. Step 5: Open cmd.exe by going to Start -> type cmd in the search box and hit enter. Step 6: Change the directory to Desktop by typing chdir Desktop. Step 7: Then, type EXPAND.EXE atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys. Or, expand -r atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys Step 8: When the expansion is complete, copy the new atikmdag.sys from your Desktop to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers Step 9: Restart your computer and the problem should be resolved.
