Graphic Accelerators - graphic card

Expert: John A. White III - 1/19/2005

Question
how much would a graphics card good enough for a new more advanced game cost? thanks

Answer
The short answer is about 100 to 150 dollars.  The long answer is to long to go into.  I would probably look at either a radeon 9600xt or an nvidia geforce fx5700 card.  There are many websites with excellent research about video cards.  Some of the sites I use for research are:

www.resellerratings.com
www.tomshardware.com
www.pricewatch.com
www.sidewindercomputers.com
www.newegg.com
www.3btech.com
www.crazypc.com
www.anandtech.com
www.sharkeyextreme.com
www.overclockers.com
www.heatsink-guides.com
www.duxcw.com
www.guru3d.com
www.firingsquad.com
www.3dchipset.com

I hope this helps
