Graphic Design - Illustrator vs Photoshop

Expert: Christopher Quereau - 9/8/2009

Question
Hello there. As far as program of choice, with the exception of text and most logos, is Photoshop acceptable to use in the design world? I catch a lot of flack for using it at work.

Answer
Photoshop is for photos and photo illustration
Illustrator is for Illustrations
INdesign is for publication layout

I see designers using all three for whatever they want because they are comfortable in one or the other but most professionals use each program for what it was designed for.
