What exactly does a girl mean when she says she likes to be held down during sex? I know the easy answer is, "she likes to be held down during sex." But what exactly does a woman mean when she says this? Does that mean she likes it a bit rough? Or does she simply like having the man be on top and pin her to the bed?

It means she likes rough play/dominating activity during sex. Being held down goes hand in hand with wanting to be 'spanked' or having their hair pulled, etc. A good example would be tying her hands to the bed or holding her hands down while having sex to where she cannot move them.
