I can't seem to find an expert on this topic so I was hoping you could help me as best as you can.
I believe I have a fetish for white athletic crew socks but no other kind of socks. Wearing a clean pair on my feet always gives me an erection. Maybe it's the thick and comfortable feel of the cotton; who knows.
Apart from this, I am an ordinary straight guy with heterosexual desires. At the moment, I am still at the dating stage and don't have a steady girlfriend yet. Now seems to be a good time to get clarification on this topic. When I had sexual intercourse in the past, there were a few occasions I wore crew socks while in the act and I don't think any of these women noticed. Wearing them really added to the overall pleasure. That being said, I can still perform intercourse without them. The socks will never be able to replace a woman I'm attracted to. They just add an extra dimension to the pleasure. I guess an analogy I can make is with food. Salt and pepper will make food taste good but they can't replace a quality piece of meat or fish. Crew socks in this case are like the salt and pepper to me.
Is this considered a fetish?
If I do have a fetish, I'm not bothered by it and I would like to keep it a part of my sex life. Once I find the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, I'm more worried about how to tell her about this. I'm afraid I might lose her because she thinks this whole thing is creepy or that I love the object and not her.
I read somewhere that there are lots of couples where one partner has a fetish and the other one is does not. It was said that they have happy and healthy relationships. If that's true, then there must be a way one was able to reveal the fetish without scaring the other off forever.
Could you perhaps suggest ways I can reveal this to the woman I love? I would like to be in one of those relationships where the other partner accepts the fetish.

Just to let you know, almost everybody has a some type of fetish. Wearing white athletic crew socks is something that makes you feel good and there is nothing wrong with that. Once you are in a serious relationship, I guarantee the woman you tell this to will not care. If anything, she will be excited to know that something so small & simple will get you excited, which means more excitement for her!
