Question 15.09.2008 morning I must go from Kefalonia (Agia Efimia) to Lefkada (city). Can I make bus to Trikala (Thessalonika)?
Thank You for answer.
Answer Yiasou Anatoli, Thank you for the question,
Take BUS up to the Kefalonian port of FISKARDO, Catch one of the early morning ferries (2 of them) about 0700 to LEFKADA port of NIDRI. Then (from that very port) you can catch the BUS that crosses the canal at 0945 for Thessalonika. You, ofcourse, will get off at TRIKALA (about 1-hour from Thessalonika). BUS Cost: about 30-euro.
You may be cutting it close on time ... You MUST make the 1st ferry out of Fiskardo as it is a 2-hour ferry-ride to Lefkada.
Another problem is SEATS on the bus. Mid September it is still going to be BUSY so try to get a seat on the bus from a travel agency when you get to Kefalonia.
If you are too tight on time you might try the ferry from Fiskardo to Vasiliki (1-hr), and grab the bus up to Lefkada (Nidri).
Time wise it is doable but the SAFEST thing would be to go the day before and stay overnite near the port of NIDRI outside Lefkada.
