Greece - Athens then Mykonos/Santorini? with a infant

Expert: Roger Ellman - 10/28/2009

Question
Hi Roger,
I'm going to Athens from 27-30Nov with my wife and 20 month baby boy.
We are staying their for 3 days at Hilton and plan to extend by another 2-3 days to visit Mykonos and Satorini
We plan to stay at either of these islands and then take a ferry to visit the other for a day trip or something like that.
Can you pls advice us which island would be a better choice and closer to Athens, so that we can take a direct ferry back to the airport from their and fly back.
My return flight would be 15 50 and a long one.
Thank you in advance

G

A little pressed for time today so apologies for brevity!

I suggest Mykonos as it is closer to Athens
This is a time of year when weather conditions can delay or have ferries canceled, so allow for this.
Getting from Mykonos to Santorini there will be few and slower ferry, options

Check for which ferries available on www.gtp.gr

And be sure to check at ports/ferry companies when you are in Greece for any changes

Hope this does not sound too negative, but if you allow for the slender ferry choices and weather possibilities of the winter period you will be better off.

Happy travels and plain sailing''Roger
