Greece/Athens to Lake Ohrid
What is the best and cheapest way to get from Athens to Lske Ohrid in June. We are thinking about going around the 14 or 15 of June.
In order to go to Ohrid, which is not in Greece, you have to go to Florina first and then to cross the borders from the border station called “Niki”.
You can go straight to Florina from Athens by bus (Kifissos bus station). Every day at 8:00 and additionally on Tue, Thu, Fri and Sun at 20:00 there is a bus to Florina. The ticket costs about 50€ (70€ with rtrn).
You might also want to go to Florina by train. In that case you have to take the train to Thessaloniki first and then to go to Florina by bus (again) If you get lucky you can find a cheap train ticket (ie.20€) The ticket from Thessaloniki to Florina (by bus) costs about 16€.
From Florina you have to take a taxi to the border station “NIKI” and once you cross the borders you have to take again a taxi to Bitola. As far as I Know there is a bus connection between Ohrid and Bitola.
You can reach Kifisson bus station by using the 951, 420 and X93 urban buses. More information in the map below.
