Greece/Long-term apartment rent in Poros/Peloponese/Naxos/Crete

Question
Hi there,
I am looking to rent an apartment in a quiet village/small town in Poros or Naxos or basically any island that is within reasonable hydrofoil trip from Athens (no more than 3 hrs), or Crete if all else fails. I am looking to rent for myself and my little daughter, starting from July-August 2007 and for at least 12 months.  So far, my online search has not been productive, returning only vacation rentals at too high costs.  I am looking to pay no more than 300 Euros per month.  Where do you think I should look for a place, or do you know any agents who would help?

Answer
Yiasou Anna, Thanks for the question,

Afraid that you are searching in vane.   The going rate of a long term appartment (just a studio type) is between 600 and 1000 Euro a month and then the owners want a security  deposit up front equal to one-months rent and probably the last months rent as well...in advance.

www.athensnews.gr ...www.expatriates.com ... http://athens.craigslist.org/apa/ ... can be useful in finding and apartment or house.
