its bizarre that this answer has to come from USA.  

pelleponnesians and sicilians ARE the same race.  that expression is meaningful to those people and no one else (unless you want to include marseilles but thats a more complex story)

Just a clarification, Rome was never under Greek or Hellenistic rule.  However, Rome was from roughly its founding, 753 BCE, to the formation of the Republic of Rome was ruled by many Etruscan Kings (from the region of Etruria in modern day Italy, now known as Tuscany).
