Question
QUESTION: what is the quickest way to get from patras to piraeus.  Our ferry gets into patras at 12:30 and I need to get to my cruise ship before 18:00.
Thank you,
Perla

ANSWER: Yiasou Perla,  thanks for the question ...

You might make it if you get the breaks ...

By 12:30, I assume NOONISH ?  That's great (IF they arrive on time)...You should be able to catch a BUS (there are 33 per day or every 30-minutes), a 3-hr trip will get you in at roughly 4:PM, Syndagma station.  From here IF you have only a little luggage I suggest the METRO...a 25-min ride to Port of Piraeus...You should be there at least by 5PM, probably sooner.  Or you could take a taxi and get there, right to your vessle before 5-PM ...but you will PAY for it.  Probably about 20-euro.

But IF your ferry arrives LATE into Patras ... that is a sticky problem isn't it?

QUESTION: how much would a taxi cost from Patras to Paraeus?  Is "george the famous taxi driver" known and safe?
thanks again!!!

Answer
Yiasou Perla,

REF: George the "famous" taxi driver...Yes, he is reliable and safe and would no-doubt be delited to take you from Patras to Piraeus ... However, that would require some co-ordination (ferry landing time, finding George, etc).  You might ask him for some ideas on the matter, and his price.

The cost of taxi for 1 to 3 people from Athens airport to Piraeus is around 60-euro. That is a distance of 45-kliks.
Patras to Piraeus is 4-times that distance.  You would likely have a 150 to 200 Euro taxi ride...OK, if you could split it with 2-others.

Time involved...15-min to leave the vessle and get into the cab, then 1-hr-45-min to (ship) Piraeus...allow atleast 2-hours.

Trains still run from Patras to Athens as do busses...BUS is quickest at 3-hrs,(15-euro), they run every 30-min. I would say allow 4-hrs to the boat fm Patras.

to find GEORGE and to enter info on your plans simply do a SEARCH for Taxi-Driver-GEORGE-Greece,and then browse.
