Question Help me Maria, I'm from Perú and my english is bad, but i need some help, i want to know the meaning of this phrase:
"DEO GRATIAS AGIMUS QUIA NOS IN VITA COMPETERE, ATQUE NOVAM VITAM IUNCTOS INCIPERE FECIT."
i don't know but i think that it means in spanish "Damos gracias a Dios porque hizo que coincidiéramos en la vida y que emprendiéramos una nueva vida juntos". ¿Could you help me translating that phrase in latin to english please? then i will try to translate it to spanish.
Answer Hello,
First of all I have to tell you that the phrase you mention is not Greek, which is the category where you posted this question, but Latin, of course.
Therefore I shouldn't answer such a question which has nothing to do with Ancient Greek, but this time I‘ll give you my answer, exceptionally.
So the phrase means:
-“We give thanks to God because He made us meet and start a new life together”.
As for the Spanish translation, I don’t know if it is right, since I’m Italian, not Spanish.
