Growing Vegetables - Veggies not growing, turning yellow

Expert: Don Battales - 6/26/2009

Question
Hi Don,
My veggies ate not growing and are turning yellow. They are trying to produce fruit, tom. peppers, etc. But no foliage. What do I give them to encourage new leaf production?
Thank's, Kim

Answer
Kim:

Typically the yellow leaf is a result of a shortage of nitrogen. Apply a good fertilizer and water it in good. Over watering will deplete the nitrogen in your soil. If you have a good grade of organic fertilizer carfully work it in around the roots of your plants without damaging them.

Best wishes.

Don
