Or you could have a mosaic virus.  It will make the fruit from a plant that previously bore yellow fruit start to bear fruit that is mottled and green.

I have same problem.  Under extreme heat Iapplied liquid pesticide.  The next day it rained but still extremely hot.  Squash are now lime green.  I believe pesticide got into the stem and created the change.  I'm not eating them until next generation.

i use NO pesticides and have had the same problem for several years. it may be more of a cross pollination thing (zucchini, green beans, pepper plants near by). the expert obviously has no experience with the original question.

This is from yellow mosaic virus on your plants. Spread by insects, climate, etc.
