Question I am looking at buying an electric guitar, but I would like it to have binding. 1) Is it possible to add binding to a new guitar already finished? 2) If so I do not want to do it myself, any idea where I could find someone or a company to do it for me?
Answer Hey Hunter, you can get binding added to certain types of bodies but not others. For example it would be near impossible to put binding onto a contoured strat body. Any guitar builder can put binding on for you, but I suggest that you either buy a guitar that already has binding on it, or get a Luthier to build you a custom guitar that has binding.
