Question
Wondered what you can find out about a Hohner HW720 s-n acoustic guitar ? I have not played since the 60's, had a band down in Pensacola, Fla. while in service..I have not seen it yet, but the guy said he traded a trumpet for it and never tried to learn to play it, loosened the strings and left it in case.  It was new when he got it abt 12 - 15 yrs ago. said the neck was st. wondered if you knew new price at that time and quality ??  Thanks,  Bill

Answer
Hi, Bill--

If you are thinking of buying this guitar, be sure to check out the neck thoroughly. It is not a good idea to leave too little tension on the neck for that length of time. Tune it and see if it eventually will maintain the tuning.

As far as value, the only new price I could find was $350.00. This model was discontinued in 1999.

Here is the Blue Book general info:

dreadnought body, solid spruce top, round soundhole, bound body, black pickguard, rosewood back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, rosewood bridge with white pins, three-per-side deluxe tuners, available in Natural finish, disc. 1999.

The pricing info:

Excellent $200 - 250
Average $125 - 150
