Guitar - General - How do I improve my guitar playing ??

Expert: Lynne May - 10/16/2009

Question
Hi Lynne,
I have been playing electric guitar for over a year. I've learnt chords, scales, picking techniques etc. What should I learn next.
How can I improve ?

Answer
Hi, Charles--

I really cannot give you specific advice because I have no idea where your skill level is at this point.

In other words, the thorough learning of chords, scales, etc. takes much more than one year of playing. Maybe if you asked yourself what it is that you want to play but can't, it would lead you to what you need to learn next.

Best Wishes,
Lynne
