hi, my grandson is a music major, plays the guitar, bass, etc, in a band, and will be attending oneonta as a music major in the fall, i bought a guitar for him at an estate sale, and i need to know if it is good enough to give to him. don't want to be embarrassed, it says Harmony, and inside is the #01001, i paid $30, hoping it was a winner, and worth more, for him to bring to school, when you have time, please let me know what you think, i can't load a pic as i have vista, and have problems, thanks in advance for any help you can give a grandma who knows nothing about guitars, but has good intentions..............barbara
I haven't personally played that model of guitar. I think it is doubtful he would want to use that as his main instrument for performances. But its always nice to have a cheaper guitar lying around that doesn't need as much maintenance as more expensive instruments. Throughout college I often practiced and jammed with friends with a really cheap guitar. As long as the instrument will stay in tune it can be useful to him, at least for practicing.
Sorry it took so long to respond. I've been working 80 hours a week and I just arrived in New York yesterday.

| Comment | hi, thank you so much for getting back to me at all with that work schedule you have, i just gave it to him just as a practice guitar, the one he really wants is soooo expensive, i'll have to get a job to pay for it. but hopefully one day you will hear of jason lopez, he's good, the first guitar he ever played i bought at a garage sale, and it was love at first sight, and here he is playing for charities, so, you never know...........he's a pianist and jazz sax player too, it's great that you do take the time for this, thank you.............Barbara | ||

Experience
I have a had 5 years of private lessons with an experienced teacher who has done studio work, worked live, He has taught several students who are now professional musicians, including Madonna's Guitarist. Personally, I have taught classes of students from age 12 to age 50. I have also had 2 years of training at the collegiate level. I've played jazz, rock, classical, country, and plenty of other things That i don't recall at the moment. I've worked as Live Sound engineer, Drum Technician, live guitarist, and some studio work.
Currently I am working at Dark Horse Recording in Franklin, Tn.
