Guitar - General - Acoustic Amp

Expert: Jason Fryer - 6/16/2009

Question
Hi Jason,
Here's my dilemma, I have an acoustic/electric guitar and an electric guitar. I am novice when it comes to electric equipment. I bought an acoustic amp and would like to know if I can also use my electric guitar with it, and if so, could I plug one of those multi-effect pedals. I plan to play ONLY in my house, so 'power' or 'loudness' is not an issue.

Many thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.

Answer
Hey George, you can use that amp no problem. If it has an effects loop. just use the return of that out from a Line 6 Pod & you should be fine. If it only has a mic in, you can still use a Pod & just get a 1/4" TRS to XLR cable & run your electric through the Pod into the mic input. Hope that helps, if you need anything else, just drop me a line.
Peace - J.
