Guitar - General - guitar tone

Expert: Jason Fryer - 7/1/2009

Question
hi i have a vox ad30vt i used to play through a les paul copy, but i was getting a real bad tone through all the amp models, i thought at first my guitar needed a set up with new strings but i brought the guitar home after the set up and it sounded moderatly better but still not very good at all, i then thought fuck it ill get a new guitar so i brought a epiphone sg but the sounds im getting are still shit can you help im going mad with it! cheers

Answer
Hi Dean, I would suggest you get one of Vox's tube amps if you like their sound. I'm positive that will remedy your problem in one fell swoop. Modeling amps never quite make the grade & you'll probably never be satisfied until you hear real tubes cooking up your signal for you. Hope that helps, if you need anything else, just drop me a line.
Peace - J.
