Question What do i need to know (or learn) to play guitar and play guitar songs ?

To play guitar, you can start off with a beginner book, sold at most local retail shops, to learn chords and tab. A guitar tutor would be of great help, so you can learn theory to start playing your OWN guitar songs, as well as relevant music symbology. Or you can take a class at a local community college if you are at a college level. Start learning the musical alphabet, then apply it to the fretboard once you learn the strings (E A D G B E), then you can learn open chords, as well as barre chords.
