Question
Hi, I have a couple music theory questions..
If I play the A Aeolian scale over chords, and then play the A harmonic minor scale over chords, would I be switching between the key of A minor and the key of A harmonic minor?

Can a blues scale be played over major7th and dominant7 chords?

Please let me know..
  Thanks,
   Sarah

Answer
Playing A Aeolian and A harmonic minor would be switching between f# minor and A harmonic minor. If you want to play an Aminor scale it would be considered C aeolian. Blues scales can be played over a major7th and dominant 7th chords. Blues scales are most commonly played over dominant chords.
