Your Hohner HG probably dates from the late 70's. I managed a music store back in the day and used to sell Hohners. They made some high end instruments (under both the Hohner and Arbor moniker)for a few years in the late 70's that were (are) exceptional instruments. They were made with top quality, aged and seasoned woods in a shop with the best Japanese luthiers. Of course, they had a hard time competing with Martin, so they stopped. Depending on the condition, your guitar is probably worth between $500 and $700. I have a 78 HG 360R that is an exceptional guitar. Incredible tone and fantastic playability. Anything you can find in the HG series should be a great guitar.

What kind of old guitar do I have? Is it valuable? How old is it? Where was it made? Is it worth repairing? Advice on buying new or used guitars, accessories, etc. [Note: While I can give some general info on approximate values of types of instruments, neither I nor anyone else can do an "appraisal" without actually seeing and handling the instrument] I have almost 40 years` experience as a player and afficianado. If I don`t have an answer myself, I can often refer people to other authoritative sources.
