Subject: Bass tuning machine replacement question

Question
I just replaced the stock Fender tuners on my Japanese Geddy Lee Jazz Bass
with Hipshot HB2 bass tuners.  I hear these are a direct swap-out, perfect fit.
I didn't replace the bushings as they are in very tight and I don't have a press
to get them out and I don't want to scratch up my headstock.  There is a very
slight bit of play, but no more than with the original Fender tuners.  Is this
important or am I okay?  They seem to be working fine.  Thanks!

Answer
Hello Frank. If you can't get the bushings out and they are working fine than you should be allright. If you want to get rid of the play and change the bushings you could also use a drill press and try to get them out that way if you know anyone who has one. Hope this helps.
