Question
Is it worth repairing?  I have c.1972-3 Guild F212-XL 12-string guitar which I bought new in Carmel, CA.  The neck (Fretboard) is causing the front or top of the guitar to "cave in".  Right now the damage is minimal.  I know that Guilds have a tension rod in the neck. This is a beautiful Mahoghany guitar with an unbelievable sound.  What would be the cost of repairing it and is it worth it?

Thanks, Joe

Answer
Hello Joe your right these are a beautiful instrument. I'm a little unsure as to what you mean by the fretboard causing the body to give in. Could you please email me a picture of this to johhny_11_11@hotmail.com or if possible elaborate a bit more as I am unable to visualize what we are dealing with. Chances are it is very repairable and this is a nice guitar that is worth the work. I think of instruments as the same as cars in the sense that they will over their lifetime require repair and maintenance. I look forward to hearing from you.
