Question Hey,
I started learning guitar quite recently. I just wanna know, what do people mean when they say: solo on the A key. Does it mean i have to play on the A note as my first note?
Answer Hey Justin,
I'm not familiar with that frase, but I have heard this one:
Solo in the Key of....let's stay A.
This does not mean that you have to play in that key, it just means that the song is in the key of A and if you are going to solo, you pretty much want to be in the same key as the rest of the group or persons that you are playing with. That's not to say that if you are playing something progressive or jazzy, that the key will not change, it just means that the bar that you are starting in is the key that is announced.
Hope that this helps a little.
Keep playing...practice makes better!!!
