Guitar Music - Fret(less) Problems

Question
Hello,

I recently acquired a pre-owned acoustic fretless bass which is great, however for some reason when I play where the 14th fret would be on the g string it plays the same note as the 15th fret and buzzes a little. I'm not sure what the problem is, as it is only this one note that does this, although that string does seem a bit out with the rest.
I thought it might have meant the truss rod needs adjusting, but I tried that and it made no difference whatsoever.
Do you have any ideas on what the problem might be and how I could fix this?

Thanks,
Iain

Answer
Hi Lain,

I'm not a bass player, per say. But it sound as if the intonation is out on you axe. In other words, the bridge needs to be set up and the harmonics adjusted. This should be done by a pro. So find a good reputable music store or guitar shop in your area and have them take a look. I bet that you will be sounding good in no time.

Patrick
