About Patrick
Expertise
I can answer questions pertaining to beginner or expert acoustic or electric guitar. Guitar repair and set up. Song writing and basic copyright laws. Recording music in the studio or live recording and set up. Questions concerning, booking your band and what wages you can expect.

Experience
I have played guitar for 40 years and performed for over 30 years. During this time I have gained knowledge of the music business in Guitar repairs, makes and models, equipment for guitar and recording. By doing my own work, I have saved hundreds of dollars. I am not a legal expert, but I have knowledge of the music business and I keep up with the changes in the business.

Awards and Honors
I have songs that I wrote that have been recognized by Billboard and I had a top ten country song in Europe. I have a band that has worked together for 20years and we still make our living playing music. I love this business and like to help others learn about this exciting business.

Question
Hey, I been playing 6 string for about 12 years now.  I aint got no formal training but I use to watch my dad when I was younger.  He would play The Eagles Hotel California for me.  I got the rhythm down and I found the commonly played chords online. The ones that start with B7 and go on from there.  But, I know for a fact that when dad use to play it he would start the intro with a-minor.  Then I think he would go to e after that but like I said, I was young.  He played it on a 6 string acoustic just like I am.  Standard tuning. Will you please help me to figure out how he did it?  It would mean a lot to me.  I have been trying for a year now to get down like he did but after the first couple of chords I get stuck.
Thank you for your time, Josiah Carson

Answer
Hi Josiah,
Yes, I play that song, still today, just like your Dad.
See below:

Verse- Am E G D F C DM E
Chorus- F C Dm Am walk the G (which is a quick hit on
       the G) back to F C Dm E
Hope this helps

E-mail me anytime

Keep playing that guitar
