During this time I have gained knowledge of the music business in Guitar repairs, makes and models, equipment for guitar and recording. By doing my own work, I have saved hundreds of dollars. I am not a legal expert, but I have knowledge of the music business and I keep up with the changes in the business.

Awards and Honors
I have songs that I wrote that have been recognized by Billboard and I had a top ten country song in Europe. I have a band that has worked together for 20years and we still make our living playing music. I love this business and like to help others learn about this exciting business.

Question
* Running: Fender Lite Ash Strat ($650) on Fender G-Dec Amp ($300)

*PICKUPS: 3 Seymour Duncan Humbucking Pickups

*Standard Whammy Bar

Hi, When I run my electric guitar on my G-dec amp with a heavier distortion and I get a buzzing in the backround (sometimes even light distortion)I ONLY GET THE BUZZING ON WHEN I USE THE NECK PICKUP, MIDDLE PICKUP, OR BRIDGE PICKUP "BY THEMSELVES"  (POSITION 1, 3, and 5). If I combine pickups (POSITION 2 and 4) then there is no buzzing.

1. Is this supposed to happen and do you need two pickups used for some distortion?
2. Is something wrong with the pickups?
3. Is my amp bad?
4. Can You Explain Some more about the topic?

Thanks so much... Roshan.

* PS,  Please Elaborate and ask questions if you need more information on my situation or electronics.

Answer
Roshan,

It would be hard to figure out your problem without doing it " Hands On" but, tell me what kind of buzzing? Is it a distorted buzz, a ground noise. You said that it happens only when you use a heavy distortion and only when you use a single pick up?

Lets talk about it.

Patrick
