Question REALLY NEED HELP......I have seen a godin soldiac for regular $800,on sale for $500 at Long And McQuade. I wanted to know if this is a good guitar? Is godin a trustworthy brand? How would this compare to a epipone les paul worth $500? I am going to be running my electric through a Fender G-Dec Amp that I purchased. I seem to be getting second thoughts on the amp. I am a beginner and I wanted to know if it would be better to just get normal amp for the same price as the g-dec? Does the G-dec minimize quality to compenste for all of the features of the G-dec. Can I get all of the sounds out of a g-dec with only a tone and volume knob and 46 presets that I could get out of a regular amp? Will I as a begginner be able to tell the difference between a regular amp and a G-dec? For instance I know that regular amps have about 6 knobs like Gain, High, Mid , Low and level.
Answer Roshan,
I'm sorry that I am not familiar with the amp that you are asking about. But, I would much rather have control of my sound then to have an amp that is "pre-programmed" in the factory. With the controls active and available, you can work the sound for yourself and practice with it to get the sound that is right for you.
Godin guitars are pretty good guitars. I don't think you can go wrong buying one at the price. Check the guitar over and make sure there are no defects. Play it, play it and then play it. Don't be pressured to buy it if you have any problems with it.
Epiphones are good guitars too. But make sure that it is made in the USA and not Mexico are China.
