Subject: Info on a 45
Question I have a .45 caliber handgun. All it says on it is "Golden
State Arms Corp. Pasa, Ca. Santa Fe Cal .45 ACP." The model
number is S1177. Can anyone tell me anymore about this gun?
I'm trying to find any info on it that is available.
Answer Golden State Arms was in importer of cheap, usually "knock-off" military surplus firearms. I think they were in business into the 1970's. I am somewhat familiar with their imported knock-off British Enfields or American Springfields. I was unaware that they imported pistols, but am not surprised by it.
If the pattern holds, the gun is an inexpensive copy, probably made somewhere in South America.
