Answer
The original Wm. Moore and Company produced good grade English shotguns in side action. The name Wm. Moore and Company was later used on Belgium made bar-locks sold by the H. & D. Folsom Arms Company of NYC.

H&D Folsom made shotguns that were 'store brands' one of which was Wm. Moore & Co.  These were inexpensive, utilitarian guns that would not have the engravings and proof marks that you describe which leads me to believe it might be a genuine Wm. Moore from England.

I can't really tell enough from your description to really be able to give you a complete answer.  If possible, it would be great if you could supply some detailed photos focusing on both sides of the shotgun, underneath the barrel, and clear pictures of the markings on the gun.  Then I can give you a much better idea of what you might have.

Sorry I can't help more, but the info provided is not enough.

Thanks,

Doug
