Question
i am a owner of browning sweet 16 with rib serial number 10395 i was wondering what the value is and to find out how to sell the items that i have in florida

Answer
Linda,

What you appear to have is a Browning Auto-5 "Sweet 16".  If it has a 2 3/4" chamber, it was made between 1947 and 1975.  If it has a ventilated rib, it is actually worth slightly more than a matte rib version.

In 98% condition, the ventilated rib version is worth about $1500 while the matte rib is worth about $1100.  In 95% condition they would be valued at $1150 and $950 respectively.  At 90% condition, we are talking about $975 and $850.

Unfortunately, without actually examining the gun, I can't really tell you what kind of condition it is in.  Since condition dramatically affects value, the numbers I have provided are just ranges that you might work with.

If you sell them to a gun store, you are going to be offered about half of what they are actually worth.  If you sell them as a private party, you will get a lot more out of them.  I'd suggest that you might try listing them for sale on www.gunbroker.com or at www.gunsamerica.com

A quick search on GunBroker shows values ranging around $1300 for a gun in excellent condition.

Hope this helps you out...

Doug
